He said he was angry with God

The surviving girls, in the Amish school massacre,
reportedly said, that the gunman was asked "WHY, was
he doing this?" He allegedly said, "Because I am angry
with God."

After the spate of school tragedies, last week, including
another one, in Colorado, it seems like many humans are
"angry with God."

Is this what happens, to many other killers,
and criminals? Could a hatred, for God, actually,
cause them to behave, demonically? When you curse
God, and live, do you then, live, for destroying life,
in one way, or another?

These gracious people, in the Pennsylvania
Amish community, of Nickel Mines, have behaved
in a way that is not usually seen, in bereaved
people. There is forgiveness. There is no
self-pity, but, resolve, to trust God.

A fond childhood memory, was when dad took us,
from the congested city, to Lancaster County,
on weekend day trips. We'd be nourished, by the
lush countryside, fresh air, and transported,
into a simpler time, alien to our lives. We ate
traditional delicacies, like mollasses-laden,
creamy rich, "Shoofly Pie," and heavenly funnel
cakes, dusted, with feathery light powdered sugar.
It was sweet "fairy dust," to me, as a kid!

The bucolic countryside, was as serene, as the
the Amish people, we saw, riding in their cute
horse, and buggies, kids looking joyful, riding,
on bikes. I loved taking photos of the barns,
because, they were colorfully decorated with
lovely hex symbols.

Even, in the face of the tragedy, suffered, by this
Amish community, this week, their example of faith,
is golden. Unlike, the cowardly gunman, who blamed
God, for his own mischief, and mistakes, these gentle
plain folk, live their faith, and behave, in a uniquely
dignified way.

The actions, of the young victims, were truly
inspirational. 12 year old, Marian Fisher, who
is now, praising our LORD, told the maniac, to
shoot her first, to buy time for the other
little girls....No greater love...

It made me weep, as I read this poignant account
of courage, and grace, in the face of the most
extreme horrors.

I pray, that I, could have the same unselfishness,
and if ever tested, my response, would be to save my
sister, too.

This tragedy, is beyond comprehension, but, the
extraordinary heroism, of the children, the
compassion, and shew of FAITH, in this particular
Amish community, Nickel Mines, gives my faith, a
needed booster shot.

It's not difficult, now, to understand why they have
isolated themselves, from the troubled, modern
world, when the stark contrasts are drastic!
These old-fashioned people, are not freaks, at
all. They may represent the last generation,
of righteousness, in a nation under God,
as plain, as they are.

It seems like the world is getting more filthy,
violent, and God-hating.

I don't agree with their dress, and lifestyle, but,
they don't agree with mine! I don't want to give
up the miracles of technology, but, they don't
threaten my freedom. The wonderful quality, in
many Amish, and Mennonite communities, is that
they live beside other families, who live, modernly,
but, never try to convert the stranger to their
ways. Their plain goodness, is faith-inspiring,
though.

May God bless, and comfort them, in this time of great sorrow.

They are a sign of grace, in our times.
